Section 483A.8, subsection 7, Code 2015, is 1 2 amended to read as follows: 1 3 7. A person who is issued a youth deer hunting license 1 4 and does not take a deer during the youth deer hunting season 1 5 may use the deer hunting license and unused tag during any 1 6 other firearm season that is established by the commission to 1 7 take a deer of either sex. The commission shall adopt a rule 1 8 permitting a person who is issued a youth deer hunting license 1 9 to use a crossbow to take a deer of any sex during any deer 1 10 hunting season that is designated by the commission. 1 11 EXPLANATION 1 12 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 1 13 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. 1 14 This bill requires the natural resource commission to 1 15 adopt a rule permitting a person who is issued a youth deer 1 16 hunting license to use a crossbow for taking a deer of either 1 17 sex during any deer hunting season that is designated by the 1 18 commission.
