AND
EXEMPTING
CERTAIN
PERSONS
FROM
THE
REQUIREMENT
TO
BE
LICENSED
AS
A
CHAUFFEUR.
BE
IT
ENACTED
BY
THE
GENERAL
ASSEMBLY
OF
THE
STATE
OF
IOWA:
Section
1.
Section
321.1,
subsection
8,
unnumbered
paragraph
1,
Code
2021,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:
“Chauffeur”
means
a
person
who
operates
a
motor
vehicle,
including
a
school
bus,
in
the
transportation
of
persons
for
wages,
compensation,
or
hire
,
or
a
person
who
operates
a
truck
tractor,
road
tractor,
or
a
motor
truck
which
has
a
gross
vehicle
weight
rating
exceeding
sixteen
thousand
pounds
.
Sec.
2.
Section
321.1,
subsection
8,
paragraph
b,
Code
2021,
is
amended
by
striking
the
paragraph
and
inserting
in
lieu
thereof
the
following:
b.
A
fire
fighter
is
not
a
chauffeur
when
operating
a
fire
apparatus.
Sec.
3.
Section
321.1,
subsection
8,
Code
2021,
is
amended
by
adding
the
following
new
paragraph:
