  1  1    Section 1.  Section 321.210B, subsection 12, Code 2017, is
  1  2 amended to read as follows:
  1  3    12.  A person is eligible to enter into five installment
  1  4 agreements in the person's lifetime.  There shall be no minimum
  1  5 delinquent amount required to be owed by a person for the
  1  6 person to be eligible to enter into an installment agreement
  1  7 under this section.
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1 10 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1 11    Code section 321.210B provides that if a person's fine,
  1 12 penalty, surcharge, or court cost is deemed delinquent and the
  1 13 person's driver's license has been suspended, the person may
  1 14 execute an installment agreement with the county attorney,
  1 15 the county attorney's designee, or the private collection
  1 16 designee under contract with the judicial branch to pay the
  1 17 delinquent amount. This bill provides that there shall be no
  1 18 minimum delinquent amount required to be owed by a person for
  1 19 the person to be eligible to enter into such an installment
  1 20 agreement.
