Section 101A.11, unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 1 2 2015, is amended to read as follows: 1 3 This chapter shall not apply to the possession or use of 1 4twenty=fiveone hundred pounds or less of smokeless powder, or 1 5 five pounds or less of black sporting powder, provided that: 1 6 EXPLANATION 1 7 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 1 8 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. 1 9 This bill relates to the regulation of smokeless powder 1 10 as an explosive material. Under current law the explosive 1 11 materials regulations under Code chapter 101A do not apply 1 12 to the possession of 25 pounds or less of smokeless powder 1 13 if the smokeless powder is intended for handloading or 1 14 reloading of ammunition for small arms, is for private use, and 1 15 conforms to certain other regulations. The bill raises the 1 16 nonapplicability provision to include the possession of 100 1 17 pounds or less of smokeless powder. LSB 1925HV (1) 86 aw/rj
