2020,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

b.
Adopt
rules
to
require
school
districts
to
adopt
3
protocols
for
suicide
prevention
and
postvention
and
the
4
identification
of
adverse
childhood
experiences
and
strategies
5
to
mitigate
toxic
stress
response.
The
protocols
shall
be
6
based
on
nationally
recognized
best
practices.
The
rules
shall
7
provide
for
annual
electronic
reporting
to
the
department
by
8
a
school
district
regarding
the
protocols
to
be
used
by
the
9
school
district
each
school
year.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
requires
that
school
districts
report
annually
14
to
the
department
of
education
regarding
protocols
used
for

suicide
prevention
and
postvention
and
the
identification
of
16
adverse
childhood
experiences
and
strategies
to
mitigate
toxic
17
stress
response.
Schools
are
required
to
adopt
such
protocols
18
under
current
law.
