  4    applicability provisions.
  5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

  1  1    Section 1.  Section 272.31, subsection 1, Code 2016, is
  1  2 amended by adding the following new paragraph:
  1  3    NEW PARAGRAPH.  0e.  Successful completion of training in
  1  4 the areas of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external
  1  5 defibrillator use, and heat injury treatment.
  1  6    Sec. 2.  APPLICABILITY PROVISIONS.  A person who possesses a
  1  7 valid coaching authorization issued by the board of educational
  1  8 examiners prior to July 1, 2016, shall have until July 1, 2017,
  1  9 to meet the requirements of this Act.
