subsection

striking
the
subsection.

read
as
follows:

prescriptions
issued
prior
to
January
1,
2020,
or

for
prescriptions
exempt

the
electronic
prescription

requirement

subsection

prescriber’s
authorized
agent
may
transmit
a
prescription

for
a
prescription
drug
to
a
pharmacy
by
any
of
the
following

means:

2020,
is
amended

by
striking
the
subsection.

Sec.
4.
EFFECTIVE
DATE.
This
Act,
being
deemed
of
immediate

importance,
takes
effect
upon
enactment.

Sec.
5.
APPLICABILITY.
This
Act
applies
to
all
15
prescriptions
issued
on
or
after
the
effective
date
of
this
16
Act.

EXPLANATION
18
The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
19
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
removes
the
requirement
that
all
prescriptions,
21
except
those
that
fall
within
certain
exceptions,
be
22
transmitted
to
a
pharmacy
electronically.
The
bill
does
23
not
alter
the
requirement
that
prescriptions
for
controlled
24
substances
be
transmitted
electronically.
25
The
bill
takes
effect
upon
enactment
and
applies
to
all
26
prescriptions
issued
on
or
after
the
effective
date
of
the
27
bill.
