H.F. 2202 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 280.13D Participation in 1 extracurricular interscholastic athletic practices, contests, or 2 competitions —— sex at birth. 3 Notwithstanding section 216.9, a public or nonpublic high 4 school student shall only participate in an extracurricular 5 interscholastic athletic practice, contest, or competition that 6 is designated for the student’s biological sex as determined at 7 birth. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 This bill provides that, notwithstanding a specified 12 provision of state law to the contrary, a public or 13 nonpublic high school student shall only participate in an 14 extracurricular interscholastic athletic practice, contest, or 15 competition that is designated for the student’s biological sex 16 as determined at birth. 17 -1- LSB 5695YH (3) 88 je/jh 1/ 1
