1.
Section
607A.8,
subsection
1,
Code
2024,
is

amended
to
read
as
follows:

1.
A
grand
juror
and
a
petit
juror
in
all
courts
shall
3
receive
thirty
sixty
dollars
as
compensation
for
each
day’s
4
service
or
attendance,
including
attendance
required
for
the
5
purpose
of
being
considered
for
service.
The
supreme
court
may
6
adopt
rules
that
allow
additional
compensation
for
jurors
whose
7
attendance
and
service
exceeds
seven
days.

EXPLANATION
9
The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
10
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
provides
that
a
grand
juror
and
a
petit
juror
in
12
all
courts
shall
receive
$60
as
compensation
for
each
day’s
13
service.
Under
current
law,
a
juror
is
entitled
to
$30
for
14
each
day’s
service.
