  1  1    Section 1.  Section 282.18, subsection 10, paragraph b, Code
  1  2 2018, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    b.  A receiving district may send school vehicles into the
  1  4 district of residence of the a pupil using the participating in
  1  5  open enrollment option under this section, for the purpose of
  1  6 transporting in order to transport the pupil to and from school
  1  7 in the receiving district, if the boards of both the sending
  1  8 and receiving districts agree to this arrangement.
  1  9                           EXPLANATION
  1 10 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1 11 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1 12    This bill eliminates a requirement that the receiving and
  1 13 sending school districts must mutually agree on an arrangement
  1 14 for transportation of a pupil participating in open enrollment
  1 15 before the receiving district can send a school vehicle into
  1 16 the pupil's district of residence to transport the pupil to and
  1 17 from school in the receiving district.
