to
read
as

follows:

During
the
hours
of
5
a.m.
to
10
p.m.
over
the
most

direct
and
accessible
route
between
the
licensee’s
residence
or
5
the
home
of
a
parent
of
the
licensee
and
schools
of
enrollment
6
or
the
closest
school
bus
stop
or
public
transportation
7
service,
and
between
schools
of
enrollment,
for
the
purpose
8
of
attending
duly
scheduled
courses
of
instruction
and
9
extracurricular
activities
within
the
school
district.

EXPLANATION

Under
current
law,
a
driver’s
license
may
be
issued
to
12
certain
persons
between
14
and
18
years
of
age
for
the
general
13
purpose
of
driving
to
and
from
school.
The
license
permits
14
driving
between
5
a.m.
and
10
p.m.
over
the
most
direct
and
15
accessible
route
between
the
licensee’s
residence
and
schools
16
of
enrollment
or
the
closest
bus
stop
for
the
purpose
of
17
attending
classes
and
extracurricular
activities
within
the
18
school
district.
This
bill
allows
such
travel
over
the
most
19
direct
accessible
route
from
the
licensee’s
residence
or
from
20
the
home
of
either
parent.
