and

including
providing

to
veterans.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

Under
current
law,
to
the
extent
the
basic
levies
are
9
insufficient
to
meet
a
county’s
needs,
the
county
board
of
10
supervisors
may
certify
supplemental
levies
for
general
county
11
services.
This
bill
adds
the
maintenance
and
operation
of
12
a
county
commission
of
veteran
affairs,
including
providing
13
services
to
veterans,
to
the
list
of
permissible
supplemental
14
levies.
