  3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  136D.3A  Minors' use of tanning
  1  2 devices prohibited.
  1  3    A tanning facility shall not allow a person under eighteen
  1  4 years of age to use a tanning device.
  1  5                           EXPLANATION
  1  6 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1  7 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1  8    This bill relates to tanning facilities and creates new Code
  1  9 section 136D.3A prohibiting a tanning facility from allowing
  1 10 individuals under 18 years of age to use a tanning device.
  1 11    A tanning facility that violates a provision of Code chapter
  1 12 136D is subject to a civil penalty and injunctive relief.
