RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the South DeKalb Business Association; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the South DeKalb Business Association (SDBA) was established in the 1970's as
the South DeKalb Mall Merchant and has been actively involved in encouraging and
supporting economic development in South DeKalb County for four decades;
and
WHEREAS,
the SDBA's mission is to promote commercial prosperity and enhance the quality
of life within the South DeKalb community; and
WHEREAS,
through innovative outreach programs and educational support systems, the SDBA
has helped South DeKalb County grow into a community of pride and unity;
and
WHEREAS,
the SDBA acts as a united advocate for positive change and development and
provides a forum for community members to express and address business and
community issues; and
WHEREAS,
the SDBA has been instrumental in the development and support of community
organizations and initiatives, providing a framework for success and allowing
organizations of South DeKalb County to thrive; and
WHEREAS,
children's organizations, schools, and community outreach groups all benefit
from the work of the SDBA and its programs; and
WHEREAS,
the SDBA serves as a catalyst for collaboration between small businesses,
corporations, local governments, and business and community groups and enhances
the quality of life for all South DeKalb residents.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
the South DeKalb Business Association for its service to the residents and
business owners of South DeKalb County and commend this outstanding organization
for its dedication to making DeKalb County one of the best in this
state.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the South DeKalb Business
Association.
