RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the National Federation of Independent Business in Georgia; and
for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is this nation's leading
small-business advocacy association, with offices in Washington, D.C., and all
50 state capitals; and
WHEREAS,
founded in 1943 as a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, NFIB gives small and
independent business owners a voice in shaping the public policy issues that
affect their business; and
WHEREAS,
NFIB's powerful network of grassroots activists send their views directly to
state and federal lawmakers, thus playing a critical role in supporting
America̓s free enterprise system; and
WHEREAS,
NFIB's mission is to promote and protect the right of its members to own,
operate, and grow their businesses; and
WHEREAS,
NFIB-Georgia's membership represents a constituency of small businesses reaching
every corner of the state and their dedicated efforts are worthy of
recognition.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
the National Federation of Independent Business for empowering small business
owners and recognize this organization's important role in the State of Georgia
and this nation.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the National Federation of
Independent Business.
