RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the Honorable Ronnie A. Parker on the occasion of his retirement;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Judge Ronnie A. Parker has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable
hours of his time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community
and state as evidenced dramatically by his superlative service during 32 years
with the Taylor County Court System; and
WHEREAS,
Judge Parker was born April 13, 1946, in Talbot County, Georgia, and graduated
from Georgia Southwestern in Americus, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
before taking the oath of office as Probate Judge of Taylor County in 1977,
Judge Parker served as a school teacher for eight years with Taylor County High
School; and
WHEREAS,
during his time on the bench, Judge Parker has been an honest and dedicated
public servant who strives for excellence in all his endeavors and whose primary
concern has been the fair and impartial administration of justice;
and
WHEREAS,
his colleagues know him as a clear thinker and hard worker, as a man whose
strong convictions are supported by meticulous research and careful
consideration, and as an equitable and impartial leader whose decisions were
governed by the rules of honesty and fair play; and
WHEREAS,
an active member of First Baptist Church of Butler, Judge Parker serves as a
Sunday school teacher, a deacon, and church treasurer; and
WHEREAS,
Judge Parker was united in love and marriage to Martha F. Parker on October 3,
1971, and the couple has been blessed with three remarkable children, Michael,
April, and Nicole; and
WHEREAS,
he plans to enjoy his retirement by spending time umpiring baseball, traveling
with his family, and running his part-time tax business; and
WHEREAS,
Judge Parker is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable
reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; the State of
Georgia is honored to have such a motivated and hard working individual as one
of its citizens.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that members of this body recognize
Judge Ronnie A. Parker for his outstanding judicial career and commend him for
his years of service to the State of Georgia and the citizens of Taylor
county.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Judge Ronnie A. Parker.
