RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Ms. Grace Riley Price on 30 years of outstanding service in the
field of mental health; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. Grace Riley Price has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for
the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal
commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as
evidenced dramatically by her 30 years of superlative service in the medical
health field; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Price earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Maryville College and a
master's degree in mental health from the University of Georgia, is a licensed
clinical social worker, is a forensic counselor, and is certified as a domestic
violence counselor; and
WHEREAS,
she began her career as a mental health and substance abuse professional at
Georgia Highlands Center for Mental Health in 1981 and went on to serve as
executive director of alcohol and drug services at Northside Hospital;
and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Price served the Cherokee County community at Cherokee Counseling &
Psychological Associates for ten years before opening The Price Counseling
Center in 2000, where she serves the North Metro Atlanta area to Blue Ridge,
Georgia, as a mental health and substance abuse counselor; and
WHEREAS,
she has served as the treatment provider for the Cherokee County DUI Court
program since its inception in 2005; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Price's significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable
patience and diplomacy, her keen sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the
needs of the citizens of this state have earned her the respect and admiration
of her colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS,
she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Ms. Grace Riley Price for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated
service to the mental health field; congratulate her on a remarkable 30-year
career; and extend to her their most sincere best wishes for continued health
and happiness.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Grace Riley Price.
