RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Hillgrove High School for outstanding contributions to education
in the State of Georgia and excellence in student academic achievement; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
under the Georgia Single Statewide Accountability System, schools throughout the
state are graded on their success in meeting academic goals; and
WHEREAS,
only a few of the state's schools qualify to receive Platinum, Gold, Silver, or
Bronze recognition on the basis of the high percentage of students meeting and
exceeding standards; and
WHEREAS,
Hillgrove High School has been named as one of these outstanding schools in
2008, receiving Silver awards in both the Greatest Gains and Highest Performance
categories; and
WHEREAS,
this award reflects the results of the exemplary endeavors of the school's
students, the dedication of their teachers and faculty, and the many
contributions of their parents.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that Hillgrove High School is hereby
recognized, commended, and congratulated for its outstanding contributions to
education in the State of Georgia, its excellence in student academic
achievement, and the great credit this fine school reflects upon Cobb County and
the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Hillgrove High School.
