RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Harrison High School on its designation as a 2008 Georgia School
of Excellence in Student Achievement; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Harrison High School has been selected as a 2008 Georgia School of Excellence in
Student Achievement by the Department of Education and stands as one of only 12
schools in the state to receive this prestigious honor; and
WHEREAS,
the Department of Education identifies one public school in each congressional
district that is in the top 10 percent of Georgia schools as measured by reading
and mathematics assessments; and
WHEREAS,
this superlative high school has maintained a proud tradition of excellence in
education through the outstanding efforts of the dedicated and hard working
administration, faculty, and staff and the bright, focused, and determined
students; and
WHEREAS,
by its example, Harrison High School has set a standard of achievement and a
model of excellence and success for other schools to emulate.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
Harrison High School on its selection as a 2008 Georgia School of Excellence in
Student Achievement and commend its outstanding dedication and commitment to
excellence in education.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Harrison High School.
