A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Jenny Lynn Anderson; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Jenny Lynn Anderson successfully published a book called Room 939, Fifteen Minutes of Horror, Twenty Years of Healing; and

WHEREAS, her book is an inspirational story of how she survived a brutal sexual assault in 1990, while attending a national convention in an Atlanta hotel; and

WHEREAS, she shares the travails of her futile attempts to achieve restoration on her own for over two decades which finally led her to the spiritual truths that would eventually free her from this bondage; and

WHEREAS, she has been blessed with the support of her husband, Mark, and their two daughters, Morgan and Allison, without whom she could not have healed; and

WHEREAS, Room 939, Fifteen Minutes of Horror, Twenty Years of Healing has impacted women all over the nation and is acknowledged and appreciated by women who have experienced similar situations; and

WHEREAS, Room 939, Fifteen Minutes of Horror, Twenty Years of Healing helps women of today to realize the possibilities of tomorrow by using strength, wisdom, and experience as a solid foundation for healing; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting that Jenny Lynn Anderson be commended for her courage in publishing a book about her experience of surviving a brutal sexual assault and for the positive role model she represents for women.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Jenny Lynn Anderson on her publication of Room 939, Fifteen Minutes of Horror, Twenty Years of Healing and recognize her courage that empowers other victims and encourages them that they too can heal.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Jenny Lynn Anderson.
