RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Emilie Marie-Louise Long on the occasion of gaining her U.S.
citizenship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Emilie Marie-Louise Long was born in Cherbourg, France, a beloved daughter of
Gisele and Jean-Claude; and
WHEREAS,
she came to America in 1991 with an Au Pair exchange program to polish her
English and become a flight attendant; and
WHEREAS,
Emilie is united in love and marriage to Scott Alexander Long and is blessed
with three remarkable children, Thomas Alexander Laurent Long, Nicholas
Jean-Jacques Long, and Anais Amy Long; and
WHEREAS,
she now teachers kindergarten at Esther Jackson Elementary School in Roswell,
Georgia, and is able to speak French, English, and Spanish which is a great
asset in her role as a teacher; and
WHEREAS,
Emilie takes her responsibilities as a teacher very seriously and ensures that
all of her students have the greatest chance possible of becoming productive
contributors to America's society, economy, and future; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of her citizenship in this country and her contributions to the
education of young people in this state, it is abundantly fitting and proper for
this body to honor the extraordinary accomplishments of this outstanding
individual.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body heartily
commend Emilie Marie-Louise Long on the occasion of gaining her U.S. citizenship
and recognize her contributions on behalf of education in Georgia and her
positive influence on the lives and futures of countless young people in this
state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Emilie Marie-Louise Long.
