A
RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the Bremen High School wrestling team on winning the 2009 State Championship;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
through perseverance and iron determination, the Bremen High School wrestling
team earned a reputation for excellence by winning the traditional state
tournament and the duals state tournament; and
WHEREAS,
throughout the season, the team won six tournaments that included two area
championships and two state championships; and
WHEREAS,
their impressive victory in the state duals tournament marks the school's first
time capturing such a title, while the traditional state win is Bremen's
seventh; and
WHEREAS,
this stellar team produced five state champions, including T.J. Bell, Jeff
Drever, Alex Eriquezzo, Trey Travis, and Zach Young; and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding
athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and
spirit of each member of the team; and
WHEREAS,
the team's remarkable season was achieved due to the astute direction of Head
Coach Tony Armas and assistant coaches Jon Whiddon, Kerry Madden, Matt Young,
Bill Hightower, and Chris Wright; and the helping hands of the team doctor, Dr.
Will Parrish, and the team trainer, Norma Norton; and
WHEREAS,
the champion team was composed of talented athletes: T.J. Bell, Michael Bexley,
Jeff Drever, Cody Hall, Zac Bell, Brody Nixon, Sam Caldwell, Rashaad Echols,
Alex Eriquezzo, Robert Evans, Slade Madden, Josh Sanders, Trey Travis, Jake
Ullman, Spencer Ward, Zac Young, Dusty Branom, Travis King, Sam Murphy, Elan
Vaughn, Brody Lively, Zach Young, Dylan Sheppard, Rob Lee, Ryan Eriquezzo, Vic
Crews, Dwayne Brazier, and Tyler Bradley; and
WHEREAS,
this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition,
and their performance this season is worthy of recognition.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
the Bremen High School wrestling team on winning the 2009 State Championship and
extend their sincerest best wishes for future success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to Bremen High School and the
players and coaches of the Bremen High School wrestling team.
