A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the 4th Civil Support Team; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the 4th Civil Support Team's mission is to deploy in support of an incident
commander to identify chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear agents,
assess current and projected consequences, advise the incident commander on
additional hazards, and assist with requests for additional state and federal
resources; and
WHEREAS,
it is composed of a joint Army and Air Force unit consisting of 22 highly
trained personnel; and
WHEREAS,
the structure of the unit is divided into six sections: command, operations,
communications, administration and logistics, medical and analytical, and
survey; and
WHEREAS,
it has conducted nine real-world response missions, 22 stand-by missions, and
over 50 assist missions in 2011 alone; and
WHEREAS,
it deploys within three hours of notification to an incident site using its
organic assigned vehicles which include a command vehicle, an operations
trailer, a communications platform called the Unified Command Suite, an
analytical laboratory system vehicle, and several general purpose vehicles;
and
WHEREAS,
a distinguished and committed team, is it abundantly appropriate to recognize
the 4th Civil Support Team for its efforts and commitment.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
and commend the commitment, efforts, and services of the 4th Civil Support Team
and extend their best wishes for future success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the 4th Civil Support
Team.
