RESOLUTION
Honoring
and commending Becky Jones-Claiborne on her 2011 induction into the Education
Hall of Fame; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Becky Jones-Claiborne is a graduate of Columbus State University and is known
for her skills on public speaking which are a product of her education and of
one professor in particular, Mr. William Crowell; and
WHEREAS,
Becky Jones-Claiborne was promoted to the role of Professional Learning
Specialist for Columbus-Muscogee County after teaching mathematics for many
years and being the chairperson of the mathematics department at Carver High
School; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of her outstanding dedication to academic achievement, she has
been named to the Education Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS,
as a result of her talent for speaking she has served on several state-wide
committees such as Governor's Honors and the Georgia High School Graduation
Test; and
WHEREAS,
Becky has personified the selfless dedication, mental agility, verbal
adroitness, and personal maturity necessary for superlative academic performance
and the will power it takes to succeed; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of this
bright and accomplished citizen.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body heartily
commend Becky Jones-Claiborne and recognize her 2011 induction into the
Education Hall of Fame.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Becky Jones-Claiborne.
