A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mrs. Ruth F. Ash; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Ruth F. Ash has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the
vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to
the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as
evidenced dramatically by her 18 years of superlative service as State Secretary
of the Georgia NAACP; and
WHEREAS,
after dedicating over 30 years to inspiring and molding the leaders of tomorrow
through her work in elementary education, upon her retirement Mrs. Ash dedicated
her efforts full time to the NAACP, having served as Church Fires Assistant, the
first employee for the Georgia State Conference, a Certified Trainer, and State
Secretary throughout the years; and
WHEREAS,
during her work assisting with the State Conference, Mrs. Ash was responsible
for updating databases of NAACP branches in Region Five, an area which covers
seven states, and traveling to branches to assist in dealing with organizational
concerns and training issues; and
WHEREAS,
her significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable patience
and diplomacy, her keen sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the needs of the
citizens of this state have earned her the respect and admiration of her
colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Ash is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation
for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Mrs. Ruth F. Ash for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated service
to the NAACP.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Ruth F. Ash.
