RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the Epsilon Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Epsilon Nu Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Order was founded on the campus of
Georgia College & State University on September 27, 1982; and
WHEREAS,
the Epsilon Nu Chapter will re-charter on April 8, 2011, with 42 members;
and
WHEREAS,
on April 6, 2011, the Epsilon Nu Chapter will hold an event to benefit the
Muscular Dystrophy Association in honor of Senator Butch Miller's son, Charlie
Miller, and in memory of his son, Coleman Miller; and
WHEREAS,
committed to community service, the brothers of Epsilon Nu Chapter sponsor a
mile of Highway 441 as part of the Adopt-a-Mile Program with the Department of
Transportation; and
WHEREAS,
Epsilon Nu Chapter is guided under the faithful leadership of President Joel
Buck and officers Davis Barlow, Ethan Brown, Brock Holley, Evan Karanovich,
Jared Kutil, Erik Larson, Steven "Mac" McElveen, and Ross Sheppard;
and
WHEREAS,
Georgia College's 2011-2012 Student Government President and Vice President are
members and officers of the Epsilon Nu Chapter; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding work of this fine
organization and its numerous contributions to the citizens of this state be
appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
gentlemen of the Epsilon Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order for their outstanding
contributions to the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Epsilon Nu Chapter of
Kappa Alpha Order.
