A RESOLUTION


Recognizing the sixth annual Atlanta Gospelfest Music & Healthcare Festival; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the sixth annual Atlanta Gospelfest Music & Healthcare Festival will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center Friday, July 15 through Sunday, July 17, 2011; and

WHEREAS, the Atlanta Gospelfest Music & Healthcare Festival is a three-day musical extravaganza designed to elevate the spirits while educating the mind, body, and soul with an array of gospel music concerts, healthcare suites and lounges, and finance opportunities; and

WHEREAS, the featured artist this year is the wonderful Pastor Donnie McClurkin, and the festivities also include choir competition, praise dance workshop competition, girls' boot camp, women's leadership luncheon, lectures, workshops, and more; and

WHEREAS, this event is produced and facilitated by the Leading Women's Repertory Theatre, Inc. and Lac1Productions under the direction of Dr. Riki Brooks who was also the CEO and Festival Administrator for Gospelfest 2010, 2009, 2008, and 2007, and she has received numerous awards and commendations from the City of Atlanta and prides herself on bringing quality events into the city.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize the Atlanta Gospelfest Music & Healthcare Festival and wish the event all possible success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Riki Brooks on behalf of the Atlanta Gospelfest Music & Healthcare Festival.
