A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. and Mrs. Charles Leon Usher; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Leon Usher have long been recognized for their leadership
and deep personal commitment to the citizens of Effingham County and Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Usher joined the Efingham County Fair Association in 1992 and became manager
two years later; and
WHEREAS,
under his guidance and leadership, the association made major renovations to the
livestock arena, constructed a building for special events, purchased and
cleared additional land, upgraded the electrical system throughout the
fairgrounds, and made improvements to the campground electrical system, front
entrance, and ticket booth area; and
WHEREAS,
in 2007, Mr. and Mrs. Usher served as grand marshals for the Effingham County
Fair; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. and Mrs. Usher have been united in love and marriage for 50 happy years and
they are faithful members of Corinth Baptist Church and the Effingham County
Farm Bureau; and
WHEREAS,
the devotion, patience, and understanding they have demonstrated have provided
the foundation and framework of success in which all of their family members
have developed and flourished; and
WHEREAS,
known for their generosity and kindness, Mr. and Mrs. Usher have made the world
a better place in which to live, with many incredible contributions to their
family, community, and state; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordinary accomplishments of
this distinguished couple be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
the amazing contributions Mr. and Mrs. Charles Leon Usher have made to their
community and this state and commend their 50 year commitment to one
another.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Leon
Usher.
