A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending students of Stephenson High School with Advanced Placement exam scores of 3 and above; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most important objective of the General Assembly; and

WHEREAS, the students of Stephenson High School have shown by example of their academic accomplishments that the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success are within the reach of the students in this state; and

WHEREAS, this superlative high school has maintained a proud tradition of excellence in education through the outstanding efforts of the dedicated and hard-working administration, faculty, and staff and the bright, focused, and determined students; and

WHEREAS, Advanced Placement (AP) exams are given in numerous subjects after a yearlong course and include multiple choice questions and essay portions on specific subject matter; and

WHEREAS, numerous students from Stephenson High School obtained AP exam scores of 3 or above: Alexis Benton, Paul Calhoun, Tabitha Coombs, Caleb Deas, Chanzodia Gresham, Abiel Habte, Erica Houston, Jamari Jordan, Kim Ly, Brandon Maynard, Danielle McFarlane, Steve McKenzie, Antarius McLain, Roger Newell, Zachary North-Carten, Danika Ogle, Chinelo Okona, Babajide Oluwardare, Ferman Perry-Atutasi, Janai Raphael, Rashad Singletary, Brittany Underwood, Dwane Walker, and Radell White; and

WHEREAS, by creating a safe and respectful learning environment, Stephenson High School enables students to learn with confidence, experience success, and achieve their maximum potential; and

WHEREAS, these dedicated students have personified the selfless dedication, mental agility, verbal adroitness, and personal maturity necessary for superlative academic performance, and they have each brought great honor to their school, classmates, and families; and

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia takes great pride in the diligent study and preparation taken by these students and looks forward in anticipation to the great achievements they will accomplish in the future.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body heartily commend the students of Stephenson High School on their spectacular scholastic endeavors, congratulate them upon their superb Advance Placement exam results, and express sincere best wishes for continued academic success in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to each of the above-named students.
