RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Roy Everett; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Roy Everett has been recognized for his talent and sportsmanship with
induction into the National Tractor Pullers Association's Pulling Hall of Fame;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Everett began pulling tractors in 1972 with a Case 970 and his first pick up
truck pulling effort was a broken down fertilizer truck with a 350 cubic inch
Chevy in 1977; and
WHEREAS,
an active leader of the pulling community, Mr. Everett has served as a delegate
on the board of directors for the Georgia Tractor Pullers Association with the
National Tractor Pullers Association; and
WHEREAS,
he won his first NTPA Region IV championship with his famed 1967 Chevrolet
called The Doerunner and went on to win four point championships in NTPA's
Region IV; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Everett was one of the first FWD Truck pullers to utilize the aluminum
Rodeck block in 1982 and was the first to win at the famed Indy Super Pull with
a FWD Truck; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Everett is united in love and marriage to his supportive wife, Connie, and
he has been blessed with two remarkable sons, Tony and Paul; and
WHEREAS,
in 2008, Mr. Everett's son Tony brought the famed Doerunner out from retirement
to win the Region IV title, with Mr. Everett serving as crew chief for his son;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Everett is among the finest pullers the State of Georgia has ever produced
and his induction into the National Tractor Pullers Association's Pulling Hall
of Fame is an honor befitting of his talent.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Mr. Roy Everett on his incredible career as a puller and congratulate him upon
his induction into the National Tractor Pullers Association's Pulling Hall of
Fame.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Roy Everett.
