RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Lauren Alaina Suddeth; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Lauren Alaina Suddeth has shown by the example of her accomplishments that the
pursuit and attainment of excellence are within the reach of young people in
this state; and
WHEREAS,
a 16-year-old from Rossville, Georgia, Lauren made it into the final ten of
American
Idol; and
WHEREAS,
currently in its tenth season,
American
Idol is a reality television competition
designed to find new solo singing talent; and
WHEREAS,
to advance to the final ten, Lauren sang Reba McEntire's "Turn On the Radio,"
and her performance was compared by judge Randy Jackson to the show's previous
success stories of Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood; and
WHEREAS,
by her talent, grace, and poise, Lauren has brought credit to her parents, her
community, her school, and this state; and
WHEREAS,
all Georgians are proud of young women who, like Lauren, represent the very best
that this state has to offer; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia looks forward with great anticipation to the promising and
bright future of this remarkable young citizen.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Lauren Alaina Suddeth on her amazing performances on
American
Idol and extend to her best wishes on all
of her future endeavors.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Lauren Alaina Suddeth.
