RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Nancy and Clint Bowling; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Nancy and Clint Bowling's devotion and generosity to the community of Cherokee
County have earned them recognition as
TowneLaker
magazine's Pathfinders of the Month; and
WHEREAS,
the Bowlings' volunteer work with a church clothing drive for the homeless
inspired them to create a ministry to respond to the overwhelming need for
clothing by families in their communities; and
WHEREAS,
the Bowlings answered their call to help by cleaning out their own closets,
seeking donations from family and friends, and buying clothes at garage sales,
fund raisers, and consignment shops; and
WHEREAS,
after 23 years, this kindhearted and dedicated couple has grown their ministry
to include thousands of clothing items and has recruited the assistance of
several families from their church, City on a Hill Methodist, in need of
clothing who volunteer their time in exchange for clothing; and
WHEREAS,
the Bowlings assist with many other clothing ministries including the program,
Give Kids a Chance, which allows needy children to start their school year with
school supplies, new clothing, and vision and dental screenings, serving almost
2,000 children in 2008; and
WHEREAS,
in addition to working full-time for Delta Airlines and serving their community,
the Bowlings enjoy spending time with the families of their three sons, David,
Adam, and Steven, and are the proud grandparents of four grandchildren, Allison,
Matthew, William, and Dillon;
and
WHEREAS, the benevolent and honorable deeds of this charitable couple serve as a shining example of volunteerism, and the State of Georgia is honored and blessed to have Mr. and Mrs. Bowling as citizens.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Nancy and Clint Bowling on their volunteer efforts and contributions and
congratulate them on the honorable distinction of being named
TowneLaker
magazine's Pathfinders of the Month.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Nancy and Clint Bowling.
