A RESOLUTION


Congratulating the Gordon Lee High School softball team on winning the 2010 Class A State Championship; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Gordon Lee High School softball team proved that their program was a force to be reckoned when they clinched the 2010 Class A State Championship title; and

WHEREAS, to earn the state title, the Lady Trojans demonstrated aggressive base running, great defense, superior offense, and consistent and precise pitching; and

WHEREAS, this amazing team of athletes made Georgia history as the first team to go undefeated in fast pitch softball in any division with a 38-0 record; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team; and

WHEREAS, pushing these athletes to achieve mental and physical toughness, Head Coach Dana Mull displayed astute direction, dedication, and determination; and

WHEREAS, this magnificent team performed with precision throughout the season and have come to earn their well-deserved reputation for high standards of athletic achievement, quality of play, and superior sportsmanship.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend the Gordon Lee High School softball team for its unparalleled achievements, congratulate the players and coaches on their state title, and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the head coach of the Gordon Lee High School softball team, Dana Mull.
