A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Mr. Michael Huneke II; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mr. Michael Huneke II has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that he has played in community leadership and his deep personal commitment to the Republican Party and the State of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Huneke has served on the Executive Committees of the Bartow County Republican Party since 2003 and the 11th Congressional District since 2009; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Huneke has served honorably as the Chairman of the Bartow County Republican Party for the past six years, since first being elected in 2005; and

WHEREAS, since he became chairman, the party has increased significantly in participation, growing from 27 individual or household memberships in 2005 to 73 individual or household memberships in 2010; and

WHEREAS, in 2006, Bartow County Republican votes ranged from 46 percent to 73 percent, and, as of 2010, ranged from 69 percent to 82 percent, and the last local office not held by a Republican, the office of district attorney, switched to Republican in 2008; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Huneke is a person of tremendous strengths, who has worked tirelessly and selflessly to forward the conservative cause and ideals in Bartow County and throughout the State of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Mr. Michael Huneke II for his years of efficient, effective, and dedicated service to the citizens of his community and this state and extend to him their most sincere best wishes for continued success, happiness, and well-being.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Michael Huneke II.
