RESOLUTION
Recognizing
Muscogee County School District Spelling Bee Runner Up Brenetta Braddy; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
on Wednesday, February 4, 2009, Brenetta Braddy, a fifth grader at Downtown
Elementary School, placed second in the highly contested Muscogee County School
District Spelling Bee; and
WHEREAS,
the Muscogee County Spelling Bee included nearly 50 students from the county's
elementary and middle schools in fourth through eighth grades; and
WHEREAS,
this achievement is the culmination of hard work and determination on the part
of this outstanding student, who deserves much credit for her energy and
dedication to academic excellence; and
WHEREAS,
as the Muscogee County School District Spelling Bee runner up, Brenetta will
represent Muscogee County at the District VI spelling bee in Perry, Georgia, on
February 21, 2009; and
WHEREAS,
the Muscogee County community and the State of Georgia take great pride in the
accomplishments of this fine young scholar.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
recognizing Brenetta Braddy, runner up in the Muscogee County School District
Spelling Bee, and extend to her their sincere best wishes for her future
academic endeavors and in every aspect of her life.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Brenetta Braddy.
