RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the class of Leadership Baldwin 2009; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Leadership Baldwin is a Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce and
Leadership Baldwin Alumni program which provides an invaluable learning
experience for the leaders of Baldwin County; and
WHEREAS,
this laudable program began in 1981 as a way to cultivate the talents and
knowledge of civic-minded citizens who aspire to participate in shaping the
future of their community; and
WHEREAS,
2009 class participants include Trey Spivey, Annie Mae Christopher, Bill
Kennedy, Bruno Jones, Jerry Bradley, J.T. Wall, LaTonya Sallad, LeeAnn Redd,
Libby Baum, Linda Bailey, Mike Augustine, Pamela Grant, Terry Calhoun, Travis
Strickland, and Wendy Sellers; and
WHEREAS,
those selected for Leadership Baldwin are given an opportunity to gain a greater
understanding of how their county and state operates through a range of
activities highlighting a variety of components of local and state government
and institutions; and
WHEREAS,
the futures of all the communities of Georgia depend on individuals such as the
Leadership Baldwin participants who are willing to dedicate their time and
talent to civic affairs.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
the class of Leadership Baldwin 2009 for their commitment to the future of their
community and congratulate them for being selected for this outstanding
program.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Edward Shelor, President,
Leadership Baldwin 2009.
