RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Colonel Benjamin Jefferson Hulsey III on the occasion of his
retirement; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
our nation's security continues to rely on patriotic men and women who put their
personal lives on hold in order to place themselves in harm's way to protect the
freedoms that all United States citizens cherish; and
WHEREAS,
Colonel Benjamin Jefferson Hulsey III has long been recognized by the citizens
of this nation for the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep
personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of the United States;
and
WHEREAS,
the beloved son of Ben and Dorothy Hulsey, Colonel Hulsey has served as a
guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United States Air Force
since 1983, valiantly and courageously defending his fellow Americans for the
past 28 years; and
WHEREAS,
he served as the director of the prestigious 60th Anniversary Celebration of the
Air Force, which included the dedication of the impressive Air Force Memorial
near the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.; and
WHEREAS,
he is united in love and marriage to his supportive wife, Connie Poole Hulsey;
and
WHEREAS,
Colonel Hulsey embodies the spirit of service, willing to find meaning in
something greater than himself, and his decades of service as a guardian of this
nation's freedom and liberty are worthy of recognition.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Colonel Benjamin Jefferson Hulsey III for his efficient, effective, unselfish,
and dedicated public service to the citizens of his country; congratulate him
upon the grand occasion of his retirement; express their gratitude for his
sacrifice in serving as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty; and
extend to him their most sincere best wishes for continued health and
happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Colonel Benjamin Jefferson
Hulsey III.
