RESOLUTION
Commending
Toccoa Life and Mr. and Mrs. Mattison; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Toccoa Life is an organization that provides services to expectant mothers and
families; and
WHEREAS,
over 7,000 women have visited Toccoa Life to obtain pregnancy tests, and over
2,700 mothers have reported their child's birth with the organization;
and
WHEREAS,
Toccoa Life has a fully stocked food pantry, a clothes closet for children with
sizes ranging from newborn to size 12, maternity clothes, and baby furniture
that expectant mothers have access to; and
WHEREAS,
under the guiding leadership and vision of Mr. and Mrs. Mattison, Toccoa Life
has successfully uplifted countless lives over the past 25 years through the
magnanimous efforts of this dedicated and compassionate couple; and
WHEREAS,
Toccoa Life offers financial assistance to expectant mothers in the form of
helping to pay for gasoline for doctor visits, providing money for prescriptions
for both mother and child, and assistance with household expenses such as rent,
heat, and electricity; and
WHEREAS,
Toccoa Life offers counseling for couples who have been through abortions and
operates a 24-hour hotline; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding work of this fine
organization and its numerous contributions to the citizens of this state be
appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Mr. and Mrs. Mattison on their selfless service to their community and the State
of Georgia and recognize Toccoa Life for the life changing services it provides
expectant mothers and their children.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. and Mrs. Mattison.
