A RESOLUTION

Congratulating Matthew and Gwendolyn Moses upon their 50th wedding anniversary; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Matthew Moses was born in Atlanta, Georgia, one of nine children born to the late Laura Mae (Poldo) Moses and William Clark Moses; and

WHEREAS, Gwendolyn Viola (Jones) Moses was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, one of three children born to the late Bertha (Kinsey) Jones and Elmer Jones; and

WHEREAS, Matthew moved to Philadelphia in 1956 and met Gwendolyn through a cousin in 1957, and after a whirlwind courtship, they were married on September 6, 1958; and

WHEREAS, they are the proud parents of three children: Renee, Matthew B, and Daniel; and

WHEREAS, the family relocated to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in 1977 and has grown to include one son-in-law, Raymond, Jr.; two daughters-in-law, Andra and Bethany; six grandchildren, Daniel, Jonathan, Michael, Christina, Bryce, and Jasmine; and one play grandson, Joseph; and

WHEREAS, some of their favorite things are worshiping together, visiting family and friends, cookouts at home, and attending movies and live productions; and

WHEREAS, over the last 50 years there were many changes in the lives of Matthew and Gwen — some happy and some sad, some sick days and some healthy days; nevertheless, they are yet standing and know that there is still God and love in their lives.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that Matthew and Gwendolyn Moses are honored upon the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and are conveyed best wishes for many more years together.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Matthew and Gwendolyn Moses.
