A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Mr. Woody Johnson; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mr. Woody Johnson has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that he has played in his community and his expertise and accomplishments in the field of real estate; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson is the co-founder of Southeast Properties, Inc., and has over 25 years of experience in the Atlanta commercial real estate market; and

WHEREAS, established in 1990, Southeast Properties, Inc., has completed ten development projects, with three new project under development, and the company has a current portfolio that totals approximately $35 million in commercial property; and

WHEREAS, prior to starting Southeast Properties, Inc., Mr. Johnson served as president of O'Neill Management Company where he managed 1.8 million square feet of commercial properties; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson has extensive training in all areas of property management, including budget management, income projection, market analysis, development of leasing and management plans, and the rehabilitation of retail projects; and

WHEREAS, his significant organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable patience and diplomacy, his keen sense of vision, and his sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of Georgia have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and

WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, Mr. Johnson is an active member of New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Georgia, where he serves as a deacon and minister of the men's ministry; and

WHEREAS, a community leader, Mr. Johnson has served on the boards of numerous civic organizations, including the Fayette YMCA, Old National Merchants Association, and Christian City; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordinary accomplishments of this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Mr. Woody Johnson for his amazing career and his many contributions to his community and the State of Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Woody Johnson.
