RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Michael David Fessenden; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Michael David Fessenden has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the most
distinguished rank conferred by the Boy Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS,
a candidate for the most exceptional award in scouting must complete a rigorous
program of training and demonstrate his proficiency in selected scouting
techniques and attainment of the highest ideals of scouting; and
WHEREAS,
a member of Troop 477, Michael has demonstrated great leadership ability
throughout the years, holding such office as patrol leader, quartermaster,
assistant senior patrol leader, senior patrol leader, and troop guide; and
WHEREAS,
Michael has demonstrated his stellar leadership abilities while at Chamblee High
School, serving as captain of the cross country team, the swim and dive team,
the track and field team, and president of the Chamblee Crazies Squad and Young
Republicans; and
WHEREAS,
an accomplished athlete and scholar, Michael serves as a shining example to his
fellow students at Chamblee High School, earning a most valuable player
designation for the school's track and field team, three years on the honor
roll, and earning a Coach's Award for the cross country team; and
WHEREAS,
Michael has been accepted to the United States Naval Academy, where he will
train to become a guardian of the nation's freedom and liberty; and
WHEREAS,
known for his formidable intellect and sunny disposition, Michael has proven
himself to be mature beyond his years and dedicated to his community and country
and serves as an example to all
Georgians.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that members of this body commend Michael David Fessenden for his diligence and dedication in pursuing the highest honor of Eagle Scout, congratulate him on his many great accomplishments, and extend him best wishes for his future at the United States Naval Academy.
