RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Officer Keith McGaw, 2012 Rookie of the Year; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Officer Keith McGaw is highly regarded by the citizens of his community and
state and by local government officials as a person of unquestioned integrity
and dedication to the sound principles of law enforcement; and
WHEREAS,
Officer Keith McGaw received a Bachelor's of Science degree in criminal justice
from Columbia Southern University; and
WHEREAS,
he served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United
States Army for over 20 years; and
WHEREAS,
Officer McGaw was hired by the Woodstock Police Department in August of 2010
after completing the Police Academy and spent a few months on Delta Watch, Night
Shift before transferring to Alpha Watch, Day Shift; and
WHEREAS,
he was previously awarded as the department's Employee of the Quarter for the
fourth quarter of 2011; and
WHEREAS,
his significant organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable patience
and diplomacy, his keen sense of vision, his hard work and inspiration, and his
sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have earned him the
respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Officer Keith McGaw for his unselfish and dedicated service with the Woodstock
Police Department and recognize him as the 2012 Rookie of the Year.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Officer Keith McGaw.
