A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mrs. B.J. Collins; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. B.J. Collins is highly regarded by the citizens of her community and state
and by local government officials as a person of unquestioned integrity who is
dedicated to ensuring the safety of others; and
WHEREAS,
a volunteer firefighter with Cobbtown Volunteer Fire Department, Mrs. Collins
has been recognized with the Cobbtown Fireman of the Year Award for her
unselfish and dedicated service; and
WHEREAS,
the Cobbtown Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1965 and there are
currently 19 dedicated volunteers with the department; and
WHEREAS,
a native of Cross City, Florida, Mrs. Collins has been a member of the volunteer
fire department since 2000, diligently and conscientiously devoting her time and
energy to protecting the people of Cobbtown and their property from fire;
and
WHEREAS,
a resident of Cobbtown since 1981, Mrs. Collins is united in love and marriage
to her husband, Larry Dean Collins, and they have been blessed with two
remarkable children, Larry Joe and Leeann; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the members of this body show their
gratitude for the unique and often unheralded contributions of Mrs. Collins and
all local volunteer firefighters on behalf of the citizens of this
state.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
the care, courage, and selfless dedication exhibited by Mrs. B.J. Collins as a
volunteer firefighter and congratulate her on being named Cobbtown's Fireman of
the Year.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. B.J. Collins.
