A
RESOLUTION
Congratulating
Casy Elyse Walker, Miss Cherokee County 2009; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Casy Elyse Walker was crowned Miss Georgia State University 2008 and was a top
15 finalist for the Miss Georgia pageant in 2008; and
WHEREAS,
this beautiful, intelligent, and talented young woman was selected as Miss
Cherokee County 2009 and will represent the county in the Miss Georgia pageant
to be held this summer; and
WHEREAS,
this extraordinary 2007 graduate of McEachern High School currently attends
Georgia State University and plans to graduate in December, 2010;
and
WHEREAS,
a brilliant scholar who maintained a 4.2 grade point average in high school,
Casy has continued her pursuit of academic excellence in college, being placed
on the Dean's List each semester; and
WHEREAS,
this accomplished young woman is President of the Honors Student Organization at
Georgia State University and is a member of the National Honors Society;
and
WHEREAS,
Casy has proven herself to be an outstanding and caring example to others,
volunteering for the Communication Across a Lifespan Lab and Georgia State
University and assisting special needs children in classrooms; and
WHEREAS,
one of her many passions is the art of dance, as Casy is a member of the Georgia
State University dance team "The Pantherettes" and works as a dance instructor
at the Peachtree Presbyterian Church gym; and
WHEREAS,
by her many achievements, grace, and poise, Casy has brought credit to her
parents, her community, and state; and all Georgians are proud of young women
who, like Casy, represent the very best that this state has to
offer.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
congratulate Casy Elyse Walker on becoming Miss Cherokee County 2009 and wish
her every success in the Miss Georgia pageant.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Casy Elyse Walker, Miss
Cherokee County 2009.
