RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Chuck Wilson; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Chuck Wilson has long been recognized for his superior coaching skills, his
dedication to challenging the future leaders of Georgia, and his incredible
devotion to developing responsible and successful young athletes;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Wilson has served as athletic director at Woodstock High School since 2006
and has been voted Region AAAAA Athletic Director of the Year; and
WHEREAS,
he began his teaching and coaching career in 1989 at Etowah High School, where
he coached football, tennis, baseball, and basketball; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Wilson has served as the assistant coach for football and girls soccer at
Sequoyah High School and joined the Woodstock High School staff in 1996 when the
school opened; and
WHEREAS,
while at Woodstock, Mr. Wilson coached varsity girls soccer for six years and
served as assistant football coach under the legendary Mike O'Brien;
and
WHEREAS,
during his tenure as Woodstock's athletic director the school has won three
state championships in softball, individual track, and diving and nine sports
have qualified for the state playoffs; and
WHEREAS,
there are hundreds of students who have learned many valuable and lasting life
principles through the example set by Mr. Wilson; and
WHEREAS,
he brought out the superior athletic ability of his players and served as a role
model and mentor to his teams;
and
WHEREAS, in recognition of his contributions to the students in this state, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the extraordinary commitment and accomplishments of this outstanding individual.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
Mr. Chuck Wilson for his decades of service to the future leaders of this state
and commend his commitment to the student-athletes of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Chuck Wilson.
