RESOLUTION
Commending
Ms. Margel D. Winn for her outstanding public service; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. Margel D. Winn has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for
the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal
commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
this dedicated public servant has diligently and conscientiously devoted
numerous hours of her time, talents, and energy to improving the lives of her
neighbors as a member of the Bloomingdale City Council; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Winn has devoted over nine years of service to the City of Bloomingdale as
councilmember from 1978 to 1983 and from 2006 to 2009, and as mayor pro tem for
two years; and
WHEREAS,
her significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable patience
and diplomacy, and her sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state
have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates;
and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Winn is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation
for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
although her presence as a public official for the City of Bloomingdale will be
sorely missed upon her retirement, Ms. Winn's influence will be present for
future generations of Bloomingdale residents; and
WHEREAS,
it is fitting that this body express its appreciation to Ms. Winn for the great
credit she reflects on her community and this state.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Ms. Margel D. Winn for her outstanding service to the City of Bloomingdale,
recognize her many contributions to the Bloomingdale City Council, and extend to
her sincere best wishes for the future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Margel D. Winn.
