A
RESOLUTION
Commending
the Piedmont Academy Cougars Football Team on winning the GISA Class AA State
Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
through perseverance and iron determination, the Piedmont Academy Cougars
Football Team earned the top ranking in the state, winning the GISA Class AA
State Championship; and
WHEREAS,
the Cougars completed their impressive season with a perfect season of 13 wins
and no losses; and
WHEREAS,
the title-winning team consisted of talented athletes Peter Lawson, Malik Reid,
Alex Hall, Blake Hammock, Britton Bailey, Nick Dimsdale, Mills Smith, Evan
Harvey, Zach Benjamin, Dylan Collins, Rhett Roberts, Sam Cleary, Patrick Berg,
Glade Tuggle, Tyler Cullum, Michael Berg, Dakota Collins, Josh Brennan, James
Marks, Daniel Leinweber, Jakey Dunagan, Austin Corley, Seth Harvey, Justin
Wilson, Willy Roberts, Carl Gonsalves-Barreiro, Mac Brittain, Garrett
Richardson, and Zach Whitwell; and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding
athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and
spirit of each member of the team; their superb offensive and defensive talents;
and the astute direction of Head Coach Rhett Farmer and coaches Bubba Nelson,
Wes Tanner, Joel Sauls, Keith Mason, Josh Daher, and J.C. Dunagan;
and
WHEREAS,
as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition,
it is abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
congratulate the Piedmont Academy Cougars Football Team for winning the GISA
Class AA State Championship and extend their sincere best wishes for future
success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to Head Coach Rhett Farmer.
