A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend Article 1 of Chapter 16 of Title 50 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions for public property, so as to provide for limitations on structural changes to the state capitol building; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.

Article 1 of Chapter 16 of Title 50 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions for public property, is amended by adding a new Code section to read as follows:

"50-16-5.2.

No structural changes or modifications to the state capitol building which would alter the appearance or any existing function of part or all of the capitol building shall be made unless and until such changes or modifications are approved by the Legislative Services Committee, the executive director of the Georgia Building Authority, and the Commission on the Preservation of the State Capitol."

SECTION 2.

All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
