The Senate Natural Resources and the Environment Committee offered the following substitute to SB 384:

A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend Code Section 12-8-40.2 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to yard trimmings disposal regulations, so as to provide that commercial lawn and landscape services shall not deposit grass trimmings, leaves, or other debris into a storm drain; to provide for a penalty; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Code Section 12-8-40.2 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to yard trimmings disposal regulations, is amended by adding a new subsection to read as follows:
"(d) No commercial lawn or landscape service shall rake, blow, or otherwise deposit grass trimmings, leaves, or other debris into a storm sewer opening. Any person who violates the provisions of this subsection shall be guilty of a misdemeanor."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
