BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 16-7-23 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to criminal damage to property in the second degree, so as to include security
cameras; to provide for related matters; to provide for an effective date; to
repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 16-7-23 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to criminal
damage to property in the second degree, is amended by revising paragraph (1) of
subsection (a) as follows:
"(1)
Intentionally damages any property of another
person,
including a security camera, without
his
the
person's consent and the damage thereto
exceeds $500.00; or"
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective on July 1, 2011.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
